Loldia House
November at Loldia House 2017
Loldia received some great rain over the last month, greening up the ranch and filling up the Lake. Our guests have headed out on boat rides to explore all that Lake Naivasha has to offer and been greeted by kingfishers, hippos, herons, cormorants, fish eagles and the impressive Goliath Herons which are around at the moment.

Lake Nakuru is high at the moment and our guests have been doing day trips to Nakuru via Lake Elementaita to see the big flocks of flamingoes. In Lake Nakuru National Park guests have had lovely lion sightings with cubs being seen up in the branches of a tree, plenty of rhino with 7 White Rhino and one Balck Rhino seen on the last day trip as well as great sightings of Rothschild Giraffe and hyena.
Back on Loldia Ranch we have had great sightings of the five resident giraffe, buffalo, hyena, impala and jackals. The migrant birds have arrived to escape the european winters and we have seen lots of Eurasian Marsh Harriers, Warblers, Yellow Wagtails and White Storks. The flamingoes come and go between Lake Elementaita and Ol Oldian and lots of Pelicans move about from Lake Elementaita to Lake Nakuru to Lake Ol Oldian.

Our guests have had some great sightings of the young leopard close to the house, with the impala moved into the Loldia House gardens the leopard has moved closer even hunting impala in the Loldia gardens.
The other rather exciting and strange phenomena a single Wildebeest has appeared from somewhere it is all on its own up at the airstrip and we have had r
eally good sightings of now thirteen Giraffe have been seen on the farm.
Loldia is gearing up for a very busy month in December. The kitchen has been in full Christmas Cake and Christmas Pudding production and we have a full house over the festive period.
