Governors’ Mugie House Achieves Gold-Level Ecotourism Certification

We are delighted to announce that Governors’ Mugie House has officially achieved a GOLD Level Certification following a recent audit by ECOTOURISM KENYA.

Governors’ Mugie House, Laikipia

This prestigious distinction is awarded to properties that demonstrate outstanding performance in environmental management, community empowerment, and conservation.

The audit highlighted our active role in safeguarding Laikipia’s biodiversity, with particular recognition given to our logistical support for the Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe censuses, as well as our continued backing of the Mugie Conservancy’s K-9 Bloodhound unit and predator tracking activities.

Beyond wildlife protection, the certification acknowledges our operational sustainability; running primarily on solar energy and eliminating single-use plastics and our structured community support, which includes funding education bursaries, healthcare initiatives and the ongoing Eco-Club efforts through Children in the Wilderness.
