Packing for a difference

If you’re visiting us and would like to donate some small items that could make a big difference to a local community or school, we would be delighted to help you get involved.

How it works

Governors’ Camp Collection proudly supports three schools:

  • The Mara Rianda Primary School in the Masai Mara
  • The Loldia Primary School in the Great Rift Valley
  • The Mugie School in Laikipia

How You Can Help:

  • Donate Supplies: We can purchase and distribute much-needed items on your behalf, supporting local businesses in the process. See the list of specific needs below.
  • Visit a School: If you are interested in visiting a school during your stay with us, we would be happy to arrange a visit during term time (outside of the examination period).

Basic Stationery

  • Chalk (white and coloured)
  • Pencils, crayons, markers, erasers
  • Glue sticks, pencil sharpeners
  • Pens (blue and black ballpoint)
  • Exercise books (lined and squared)
  • Compasses, protractors, rulers
  • Art supplies (paints and colours)

First Aid/Health Kits

  • Sanitary items (reusable sanitary pad kits are preferred- we can source these in Kenya)
  • Band aids, bandages

Learning Materials

  • English dictionaries
  • Encyclopedias
  • Wall charts (human body, math, language, science, world maps)
  • English flashcards (alphabet, math, word)
  • Reading books
  • Educational games & toys (puzzles, soft toys).

Sports/outdoor activity equipment

  • Soccer balls, Basket balls, Volley balls, Netballs
  • Jumping/skipping ropes
  • Team uniforms
  • Medals

We suggest you choose some items from the list above, rather than carry out other items that may be politely declined – such as candy and balloons which are harmful for the children and the environment.
