Providing access to quality education in our regions of operation.
Kenya
We believe that the long-term protection of wild landscapes depends entirely on the people who call them home. For over two decades, we have partnered with communities across the Masai Mara, the Great Rift Valley, and Laikipia to ensure that the next generation has access to quality education. We recognise that when children are empowered with knowledge and opportunity, they become the strongest advocates for their natural heritage.
Our support goes beyond simply donating supplies. We take a holistic approach to education, working hand-in-hand with parents and community leaders to transform humble learning environments into thriving academic centres. Across our footprint, we have facilitated the construction of vital infrastructure—including classrooms, libraries, dormitories, dining halls, and clean water systems—turning schools that once struggled with overcrowding and limited resources into safe spaces for thousands of students. Beyond bricks and mortar, we invest in the human element of education by supporting teacher salaries, funding bursaries for deserving students and providing essential learning materials.
We are not only helping to educate the students; we are nurturing the future guardians of Kenya’s wildlife. In partnership with conservation experts, we have integrated environmental stewardship directly into the school experience. Through dedicated Eco-Clubs and regular mentorship sessions led by our own guides, students engage in critical conversations about poaching, climate change, and biodiversity. These initiatives are shifting mindsets and inspiring young people to take pride in the unique ecosystems that surround their homes.

We invite our guests to witness the vibrant energy of these schools firsthand. A school visit during term time is a deeply moving experience that offers a glimpse into the daily lives of the community. You will meet the teachers and students whose resilience and drive are truly inspiring. Whether you are staying in the Mara, Laikipia, or the Great Rift Valley, please speak to your Camp Manager or guide to arrange a visit to one of our partner schools.
There are several meaningful ways to support the schools and their students. For those wishing to contribute immediately, we welcome donations of educational supplies through our Packing for a Difference initiative; simply bring items with you, or allow us to purchase them locally on your behalf. For guests seeking a deeper, long-term impact, we offer comprehensive bursary programmes. Many bright students in these remote areas are unable to afford the costs of secondary education. By contributing to our Bursary Fund, you can sponsor a child’s tuition and boarding fees, unlocking their potential and changing the trajectory of their life. Every contribution, whether a single textbook or a full scholarship, helps build a brighter future for these communities and the wildlife they protect.
Donations can also be made through secure online payment platform, via bank transfers or, for those requiring a 501(c)3 tax exemption, through Empowers Africa.
