Governors’ Camp, Il Moran Camp and Loldia House each hold a Gold eco-rating from Eco-Tourism Kenya, a membership organization that champions responsible and sustainable tourism practices. The rating applies to each camp as a property and does not cover flights, transfers or the safari as a whole.
At our camps, reverse osmosis water filtration removes the need for plastic water bottles, and each guest receives a reusable metal bottle on arrival. Plastic straws have been replaced with paper or metal, and one-time-use plastic bathroom amenities have been replaced with products in metal dispensers. Waste is sorted into organic and inorganic items, and recyclable items are collected by recycling companies. Solar panels and solar water heaters are installed at Governors’ Camp and Il Moran Camp.

Safari camps operated by Governors’ Camp Collection are typically accessed via scheduled flights from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to regional airstrips serving the Masai Mara or Great Rift Valley locations. Transfers from airstrips to camps are arranged using established routes. Some Great Rift Valley locations may also be accessed by road from Nairobi.
