Hi, my name is Dan Palmer and I was born and raised in Derbyshire within the UK. I have been a professional photographer since 2016 and more recently, a professional videographer since 2019. I am currently living in Asia where I am creating content full time for the travel industry.

I am constantly drawn to the different elements of light and shadow, where I find my creative inspiration through imagery and film is based on a dramatic feel. The combination of both wildlife and travel, in particular, have always been close to my heart and it is where I find the real passion to create engaging imagery and film through the use of dramatic light, emotion and storytelling.

Wildlife photography is no different and whilst the technicalities of photography in general are a big part of the process, it is even more paramount to have the ability as a photographer to engage and connect the viewer to your images.

My travel and wildlife work is based on those three elements above and I constantly use them as a reference in creating images both in wildlife, and my work. Ultimately, it is my goal to produce powerful and engaging shots that give the viewer an instant connection.

I will be based at Governors’ Camp for three months as their Resident Photographer this year and I look forward to seeing you there, where we can create some beautiful photography together. Please follow me on Instagram.

Dan will be based at Governors’ Camp from the 28th August until the 18th November 2024. To find out more about our photography services, please see Resident Photographer.
