As the name suggests, this camp is available for the private use of individual groups who want an exclusive taste of the Governors’ experience.
Enhancing and completing the Governors’ Camp Collection of properties in the Masai Mara, Private Camp is located on a picturesque bend of the Mara River where a variety of animals come to drink, hippo laze in the shallows and elephants bring their calves for a playful dip. The forest around the camp is home to many beautiful birds from rare trogons and turacos, to nesting hornbills.
Private Camp can be booked by individual clients, or by one family or small party, who want the exclusivity of a private safari camp. Backed by the vast resources of nearby Governors’ Camp and with all the assets of an individually tailored mobile set up, this is the ultimate safari.
We cater for up to 16 people in just eight tents, ensuring total peace and privacy at Governors’ Private Camp. Each tent is positioned on wooden platforms with extended verandahs – designed to offer guests the traditional safari experience of times gone by. We have gone to great lengths to maintain the traditional safari atmosphere and the comforts that have been incorporated do not in any way detract from this concept.
Personal attention is the hallmark of a stay here; your manager is on hand to see to all your desires and answer all your questions. You will benefit from our very best guides and trackers whose knowledge of the Reserve is unsurpassed.
In order to book this camp you must book and pay for at least six tents for a minimum of two nights.
